Exploring Relationship
Explore the nature of relationship with Lucid Body.
On set, we’re often asked to play intimate relationships with partners we’ve never seen before — a mother and daughter, siblings, lovers, even long-term spouses.
Yet without a physical, embodied connection — something that naturally grows through time and shared experience — these relationships simply won’t feel believable.
So how do you build a lived-in physical history with someone you’ve just met?
How do you make the audience believe that you know each other inside and out?
In this workshop, you’ll learn exactly how to create deep, authentic physical connection in minutes.
We will create high stakes relationship with a partner and multiple high stakes relationships within an ensemble.
We will create physical history between two partners and within an ensemble.
We will train to get out of the head and into the body, listen to the body´s visceral impulses.
We will explore a huge variety of fully embodied tactics.
We work in pairs and groups, through improvisation, movement sequences and character development.
We work towards emotional elasticity, physical strength, releasing judgement and quieting the censor.
With this in motion, we create vibrant, dynamic, fluid, daring artists and healthy individual.
While the workshop is designed for actors, artists of all disciplines are welcome to attend.
