Lucid Body Intensive

Bring a Character and Monologue or Scene

Explore the extremes of human nature with Lucid Body,
an Oscar award winning acting technique,
practiced by Hollywood stars like Lupita Nyongo,

instructed by Sophie Löschburg, certified Lucid Body teacher.

Using a Non-judgmental approach, the body becomes a great window into understanding the psychological and emotional patterns of our lives.

Participants will develop an in-depth awareness of their psycho-physical habits. Then, through a wide range of exercises, they will broaden their range of expression.

For actors, this process is liberating - to learn how to shift one's energy to suit the life and circumstances of the characters they are playing.

The paradigms of persona, childneed, shadow and archetype will be explored in our understanding of the complexities of self and character.

Exercises will be focused on transforming the habitual body into new parts of self.

Creating complex character and inner conflict will be a huge part of the workshop.

We work individually, in pairs and groups, through improvisation, movement sequences and character development. We work towards emotional elasticity, physical strength, releasing judgement and quieting the censor.

With this in motion, we create vibrant, dynamic, fluid, daring artists and healthy individual.

This is an accessible method that appeals to all artists: actors, dancers, musicians, writers and directors as well as those in the healing arts.

The workshop is dedicated to characterwork.

Moving into more advanced exercises, and utilizing your Basics tools, this workshop will move seamlessly into embodying character.

Bring a character you are currently working on or would like to work with. A character that you have always wanted to play, even though you may never be cast as this character.

Or a character from a play or script you would like to use for a little scene for a showreel.

If you don´t have a character at the moment or would like to work on something new, just let me know and I will send you a few plays to choose a character from.

We will work individually, in pairs and groups and within the scenes of the character.

This workshop is about stretching beyond what we think our limits are.
